“Let my people grow: in honour of the farmers of Jayyous”, was an event commemorating the Palestinian olive harvest season.

Hosted by Amnesty International at Concordia University in Montreal, the evening featured American folk singer David Rovics and Tunisian-born singer-songwriter, Emel Mathlouthi, as well as Montreal’s own Palestinian Theatre Group.

Jayyous is a small, West Bank, Palestinian farming village where Israel’s “security barrier” has separated farmers from their traditional land. Amnesty International Concordia has a long-term action raising awareness about this particular Palestinian village.
