Thousands of students marched to Premier Jean Charest’s office in downtown Montreal on Thursday, Nov.10 . The protest was planned for months by student associations across Quebec. They opposed the Quebec government’s decision to lift the tuition freeze that has been in effect for most of the last four decades. The government plans to raise fees by $325 per year over the next five years. Joel Balsam was at the strike and spoke with the Concordia Student Union president Lex Gill and other protesters.
