Montreal students gathered in front of McGill University, this afternoon, to show solidarity with Syrians affected by the civil war. The vigil was hosted a day after the world marked the third anniversary of the uprising in Syria. Since then over 100,000 people are estimated to have been killed in the conflict.
Standing near the Redpath Museum , students held up signs, with slogans such as ” 3 Years” and ” 2 500 000 Syrian Refugees. Half are children.” They also collected donations for Syrian refugees. The vigil was organized by Journalists for Human Rights McGill, McGill Students for Oxfam Quebec, The Syrian Student Association and the Amnesty International McGill.
